About The Position

The Day Camp Counselor will supervise and guide activities for campers aged 6-13, ensuring a safe, positive, and supportive environment for social experiences. The role involves leading activities like arts and crafts, encouraging camper creativity, and organizing the classroom setting. Counselors will typically supervise no more than 6 children at a time, often with the assistance of a support staff member or the Children's & Youth Ministry Director.

Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • Able to develop positive rapport with campers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Reliability

Nice To Haves

  • Child Care/Camp Counseling/ Teaching experience
  • Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
  • First Aid Certification (Preferred)
  • CPR Certification (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe, positive, and supportive environment for campers.
  • Instruction and facilitation (or assist with) of indoor and outdoor activities on campus.
  • Oversee the health and safety of campers.
  • Utilize approved safety practices.
  • Provide appropriate First Aid and submit written reports to Health Supervisor.
  • Create and supervise an emotionally healthy environment for campers.
  • Complete designated paperwork, reports, etc.
  • Organize classroom setting.
  • Preparation before and after kids arrive.
