About The Position

Beansprouts Day Camp is hiring for Summer 2026. Since 1980, Beansprouts has provided children in Preschool through 5th grade with a fun summer experience. Our program includes outdoor sports, indoor games, electives, arts & crafts, water play, theme weeks, and weekly swimming and field trips for older children. We aim to foster a nurturing and safe environment by hiring devoted team members who make campers' summers extraordinary. Counselors are key to a successful summer and happy campers. The role involves creating a fun and safe space for campers. This is an opportunity to make a positive influence on children's lives. The camp has two main groups: Upper Camp (rising 1st - 5th grade) which is fast-paced with activities like soccer, spirit weeks, and visits from an ice cream truck, including swimming twice a week and weekly field trips. After Camp is an aftercare option (3-6pm) for campers to wind down in a structured yet fun environment. Beansprouts is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity.

Requirements

• Must be able to work the entire camp session: Upper Camp – 6/22-8/21, After Camp – 6/15-8/21 (final dates may vary based on availability).
• Must be available to work the full camp day (8-4, 9-5 or 10-6) or after camp hours (3-6).
• Must be at least 17 years old prior to the start of camp.
• Must have at least one year (or equivalent) of experience working with children.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalency; or be enrolled in a college program.
• Should possess strong communication skills.
• Must be positive, patient, and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Create a fun and safe space for campers to spend their summer.
• Make a positive influence on children's lives.
• Supervise and engage campers in various activities including sports, games, arts & crafts, and water play.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers.
• Participate in weekly swimming and field trips for Upper Campers.
• Assist with aftercare program activities from 3-6pm.
