About The Position

The Database Support Specialist will be responsible for managing pricing-related emails and requests, including requesting, reviewing, and processing updated vendor price files. This role involves setting up new customers and suppliers, ensuring accurate and complete system data, and maintaining and managing discontinued items. The specialist will also process miscellaneous ToolDB requests, monitor and manage open order reports for Advanced Supply accounts, and provide Tool-Expedite support. This is a full-time position requiring a solid understanding of database administration and strong attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of database administration, including data entry, field merging, and general computer operations.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a flexible and proactive approach to changing priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Microsoft Access is a plus but not required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster a positive and productive work environment while collaborating effectively with customers, colleagues, vendors, and management.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Access is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage pricing-related emails and requests, including requesting, reviewing, and processing updated vendor price files.
  • Set up new customers and suppliers, ensuring accurate and complete system data.
  • Maintain and manage discontinued items, including system updates and cross-functional communication.
  • Process miscellaneous ToolDB requests, including: Unlinked contacts, Item location additions, Contact additions, KM voucher notepads.
  • Monitor and manage open order reports for Advanced Supply accounts.
  • Review order status for past-due and at-risk items, coordinating with order takers to ensure critical items are reviewed and prioritized.
  • Provide Tool-Expedite support, including tracking urgent orders, following up with suppliers, and communicating status updates internally.
  • Other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as required by the position.
