About The Position

KAYGEN is seeking a Database Engineer (DBA / Database Developer) to design, maintain, and improve database environments that support reliable and efficient data operations. The role combines PostgreSQL administration with database development, data modeling, data analysis, and ETL work. The position is hybrid in Irving, Texas, or New Castle, Delaware, and runs through April 30, 2027. The primary database platform is PostgreSQL. MongoDB and legacy database platforms may also be used as applicable. The role requires collaboration with application, analytics, and infrastructure teams, as well as documentation of database designs, processes, and operational procedures.

Requirements

Strong SQL skills.
Experience administering PostgreSQL.
Experience with database design and data modeling.
Data analysis skills, including the ability to assess database structures and data requirements.
Experience developing or supporting ETL processes.
Clear communication and documentation skills.
6–9 years of experience (Advanced).

Nice To Haves

MongoDB experience.
Schema mapping experience.
Experience with legacy database migration.

Responsibilities

Administer PostgreSQL databases, including configuration, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Design and develop database schemas, tables, views, and other database objects.
Create and maintain data models to support business and technical requirements.
Analyze data structures and database performance, and recommend and implement improvements.
Build, maintain, and troubleshoot ETL processes for moving and transforming data.
Support data quality, integrity, security, and availability.
Collaborate with application, analytics, and infrastructure teams on database requirements and solutions.
Document database designs, processes, and operational procedures.
