As a Database Engineer – Level 3 or 4 located in Morrisville, NC , you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. The role involves applying standards, processes, and tools throughout the software development lifecycle, diagnosing integration issues, and delivering fixes or enhancements in a fast‑paced, Linux‑based, client‑server environment. The candidate must be a multitasking team player with strong communication skills, able to collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and contractors. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Diagnose problems encountered during application integration among products and address fixes/enhancements according to prescribed program processes. Familiarity with developing application software in a Linux environment, using relational databases, and knowledge of client – server applications will help set the candidate up for success. The candidate will be working in an extremely dynamic and challenging environment on a day-to-day basis. Experience with working in a fast-paced environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 1 year of professional experience (for Level 3).
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 4 years of professional experience (for Level 4).
  • An additional 4+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active U.S. Government Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
  • Active Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph at time of application.
  • Experience with design and implementation of data warehousing technologies including relational databases, SQL, and data analytics.
  • Experience implementing InfluxDB, DynamoDB and PostgreSQL database systems running on Linux.
  • Experience in full lifecycle project development.
  • Experience with scripting languages such bash, PLSQL and/or Python for crafting efficient automation scripts and executing database operations.
  • Experience working on Agile Teams.
  • Current Security+ Certification or equivalent.
  • Experience documenting design, processes, and procedures.
  • Experience with CI/CD Pipeline, Bitbucket, Git, Jira.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science in Engineering or other STEM discipline.
  • Experience working with Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience working with DevOps processes, i.e., Ansible, VMWare, Kubernetes (containers), deployment experience.
  • Systems administration experience, to include Windows, Linux, and VM environments.
