About The Position

ASRC Federal Advanced Research (AFAR) supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Second Level Engineering (SLE) Groups who serve as the premiere Subject Matter Experts for NAS systems and equipment. Join our growing team as a Database Administrator Level 3 in support of the SLE Automation and Tools Team. Responsibilities: Assignments may include but are not limited to: identifying user needs to create and administer databases; ensuring that databases operate efficiently and without error; make and test modifications to database structures when needed; maintain databases and update permissions; merging old databases into new ones; backup and restore data to prevent data loss; and ensure that organizational data is secure. Performs multiple, varying, and complex assignments under limited direction. Applies experience and advanced technical knowledge applicable to accomplish assignments and to develop plans and techniques to improve programs. Understands how his/her technical area interacts with or is affected by other disciplines and considers the objectives of the external organizations when developing, integrating, and implementing solutions to diverse, complex problems. Work is reviewed periodically, typically at major milestones and at completion, for technical compliance and alignment with the requirements of the project or other work activity. Work activities typically support and may be vital to the success of projects or activities of one or more organizational units. In some areas, the work may affect the safety and security of customers.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required
  • All applicants must have resided in the United States for the past 3 years
  • Ability to pass an FAA background investigation
  • Must be local to the OKC area
  • Will need to have the ability to interface with hardware when needed
  • Must demonstrate initiative with minimal oversight
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Good written and spoken communication including developing technical documentation
  • Proficiency in programming skills using software applications and tools is required
