About The Position

The selected candidate for the 5th Gen MUO Database Engineer Level 3 will design, develop, build, analyze, and evaluate database management systems, including modeling, relational architecture, metadata and repository creation, and configuration management. The engineer will use data mapping, data mining, and transformational analysis tools to design databases, determine optimal storage needs, and prepare system requirements, source analysis, and process analysis throughout implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Information Management, Data Science, Finance, Business, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related STEM field.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong analytical abilities with hands on experience in databases, data structures, or large scale data processing (e.g., Excel, Access, etc.).
  • Proficient in statistical programming and data processing tools (Python, Alteryx)
  • Proficient in querying databases using Structured Query Language (SQL).
  • Skilled at gathering and integrating datasets from different sources
  • Capable of designing, building, and maintaining relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, SAP HANA, or similar tool) with emphasis on data quality, integrity, and performance optimization
  • Experienced in automating workflows with PowerShell, Python, or a similar software
  • Adept at creating clear Tableau dashboards that translate model insights for non-technical stakeholders
  • Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Jira for sprint tracking and backlog management
  • Effective communicator of technical concepts in both written and verbal form to diverse audiences
  • Detail oriented, ensuring data accuracy through rigorous validation and root cause analysis
  • Self-motivated, driving independent projects while continuously learning new analytics and visualization tools
  • This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Responsibilities
