The Database Engineer / Oracle Database Administrator supports complex, high-performance systems with stringent interface, security, and availability requirements. This role provides deep technical expertise across the full database engineering lifecycle, including architecture, design, development, requirements analysis, data flow, testing, and documentation. The ideal candidate analyzes user and system requirements to develop scalable database architectures and contributes to system design and configuration documentation, including capacity planning and performance optimization. This position plays a key role in addressing advanced technical challenges such as distributed data replication, concurrent data access, and high availability. The Database Engineer/Oracle DBA also conducts risk assessments, evaluates alternative solutions, and implements best practices to ensure robust and reliable database operations. Working within an Agile environment, the selected individual collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including system and software engineers, integration and test engineers, and information assurance professionals to support large-scale, geographically distributed systems. The role involves contributing to Program Increment (PI) Planning and other Agile activities, while ensuring engineering rigor across all assigned tasks. Additionally, the Database Engineer/Oracle DBA supports database design, development, and optimization efforts; translates requirements into effective database schemas; develops queries, scripts, and data structures; and assists in building database-related software components. This role contributes to both short-term and long-term database strategies, ensuring alignment with overall system architecture from project inception through completion.
