About The Position

Peregrine Advisors is a data and technology innovation hub and a Benefit Corporation working at the center of the federal government's mission. We are looking for highly motivated contributors who thrive when trusted to own a hard problem and equipped to deliver the solution. Your first assignment is to build and maintain the queries, stored procedures, and views that make a federal agency's enterprise data warehouse useful, working on Amazon Redshift and its relational neighbors under a senior developer's design. You will grow toward owning physical design yourself. The work is real, hard, and it matters. Requirements

Solid SQL on a modern warehouse (Amazon Redshift) and relational databases.
Experience writing stored procedures and views that are reliable.
Working knowledge of query tuning, data loading, and connectivity.
Experience with version control and clean delivery practices.
Drive to grow toward owning physical design.
Judgment to work where accuracy and auditability are critical.
U.S. citizenship.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust determination.

Nice To Haves

Experience with PostgreSQL and SQL Server.
Experience with S3-to-Redshift loads.
Experience with governed access.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain queries, stored procedures, and views on Amazon Redshift, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.
Turn raw data into usable information through SQL development.
Manage the plumbing behind data processes: query tuning, S3-to-Redshift loads, and connectivity under governed access.
Contribute to new capabilities, tools, and lines of business.
