About The Position

Peregrine Advisors is seeking a Senior Database Developer to own the data layer of a federal agency's enterprise data warehouse. This role involves the physical design, data models, and performance tuning of a large-scale platform on Amazon Redshift and related relational databases. The position offers the opportunity to shape a high-volume data platform, build essential data infrastructure components, and contribute to the firm's growth. Requirements

Deep, hands-on ownership of a data warehouse on Amazon Redshift (and relational databases like PostgreSQL and SQL Server): physical design, tuning, and modeling.
Proficiency in stored procedures, schema migration, S3-to-Redshift loads, and governed access.
Judgment to build in a regulated environment where accuracy and auditability are critical.
U.S. citizenship.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust determination.

Experience with specific tools and certifications will be assessed during the application and interview process.

Responsibilities

Own the data layer of a federal agency's enterprise data warehouse, including physical design, data models, and performance.
Design and tune a large, high-volume platform on Amazon Redshift and its relational neighbors.
Develop a warehouse data layer that performs, including physical design (distribution and sort keys, workload management), query and plan tuning on large datasets, and robust data models.
Build the infrastructure around the data layer, such as schema migrations, S3-to-Redshift load patterns, stored procedures, and Apache Ranger access controls.
Contribute to new capabilities, tools, and lines of business within the firm.
