About The Position

Experian is seeking an Expert ETL Data Engineer responsible for building data pipelines, data warehouse solutions, and analytics processing tools to democratize data. This role involves designing and developing foundational components of the BI platform, including Data Engineering, Data Quality, and Data Catalog frameworks. The position requires partnering with various stakeholders across the organization to understand customer requirements, design prototypes, and optimize existing data services. The engineer will design and maintain data warehouse solutions for large-scale analytics processing, build scalable ETL data pipelines for high-volume data ingestion, and develop Data Engineering solutions to support a self-service BI Platform. Collaboration with product teams to translate business needs into technical requirements and enabling project success is key. The role also involves developing a high-performing data engineering team with inspiring leadership, troubleshooting data and system issues, and participating in a production support on-call rotation. The position may allow for telecommuting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or related field and 7 years of experience in the job offered or in a Database Developer-related occupation
  • Experience in Data Engineering development and support for technology industry and public sector
  • Experience in building highly scalable Big Data solutions using Apache Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka
  • Experience in handling petabyte-scale data and optimizing ETL processes for performance and cost-efficiency
  • Experience in programming languages like SQL and Python for data analysis, machine learning model development, and automation scripts
  • Experience with AWS ecosystem, including designing data lakes on S3, running ETL jobs on EMR, and managing data warehouses on Redshift
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau and Alteryx for creating interactive dashboards, performing advanced data analytics, and generating business insights

Responsibilities

  • Building data pipelines, data warehouse solutions, and analytics processing tools to democratize data
  • Designing and developing foundational components of the BI platform, including Data Engineering, Data Quality, and Data Catalog frameworks
  • Partnering with Program Managers, Subject Matter Experts, Architects, Engineers, and Data Scientists to understand customer requirements, design prototypes, and optimize existing data services/products
  • Designing and maintaining data warehouse solutions that allow for large-scale analytics processing
  • Building scalable ETL data pipelines, ingesting high volume of data from internal and external sources
  • Building and maintaining Data Engineering solutions that support self-service BI Platform, partnering with BI Engineers to deliver end to end solutions
  • Working closely with product teams to understand business success criteria, translate business needs into technical requirements, and enable project success
  • Developing a high performing data engineering team with an inspiring leadership style
  • Troubleshooting and resolving data, system, and performance issues
  • Participating in production support on-call rotation
