The Database Architect Senior provides the data and technical expertise to support the Office of Naval Research (ONR) Comptroller’s Office Data and Analytics (D&A) Division architecture. This role involves identifying, acquiring, and curating relevant commercial S&T data sets, engaging with analysts to answer strategic questions, automate reports, and configure dashboards. A robust data quality program, including profiling, cleansing, enrichment, and stewardship, is essential. The position requires maintaining metadata, data lineage, and data dictionaries, as well as developing and deploying advanced analytics, dashboards, and AI/ML models. Onboarding, training, and support for analytics platforms are also key responsibilities. The role includes establishing and supporting a Data Governance Board, designing and operating data and applications within a secure cloud environment (FedRAMP High, DoD IL5), and ensuring the system’s Authority to Operate (ATO). Architecture design for scalability, implementation of secure data access mechanisms (APIs, UIs, Bulk Data Download), and management of access under a formal data governance framework are critical. Development and deployment of ML/AI models, including NLP, and integration of AI/ML platforms are expected. Automation of infrastructure and workflows using IaC, CI/CD pipeline management, and development of streaming data pipelines are also part of the role.
