About The Position

The Database Architect owns the data architecture for the platform. You will design the data models, storage strategy, and data-flow patterns for a high-volume filing platform on AWS, ensuring performance, integrity, security, and regulatory auditability.

Requirements

• 10+ years of data engineering/architecture experience
• Deep expertise in data modeling and both relational and NoSQL databases
• Experience with AWS data services at scale
• Strong understanding of data governance and security
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be willing to work a HYRBID Schedule (2 Days) in Reston, VA & client locations in the Washington D.C. area as required.
• Ability to pass a 7-year background check and obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Clearance
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Must be able to prioritize and self-start.
• Must be adaptable/flexible as priorities shift.
• Must be enthusiastic and have passion for learning and constant improvement.
• Must be open to collaboration, feedback and client asks.
• Must enjoy working with a vibrant team of outgoing personalities.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Own the target-state data architecture and data models for the platform
• Design storage, partitioning, and access strategies on AWS data services (Aurora, DynamoDB, S3, Redshift)
• Define data governance, lineage, and quality standards
• Architect data pipelines, integration, and dissemination patterns
• Ensure data security, encryption, and regulatory auditability
• Partner with product and cloud architects on cross-domain data concerns
• Support analytics and AI/ML data enablement
• Review data designs and mentor database developers
