About The Position

PEMCCO is seeking a Database Analyst to support the administration, maintenance, security, and optimization of database environments that support critical government and operational requirements. This role is ideal for a technology professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex database issues, improving system performance, and ensuring reliable access to business-critical data. This opportunity is a strong fit for candidates with experience in database administration, database management, data administration, database operations, SQL environments, systems support, or enterprise database management. As a Database Analyst, you will help maintain database environments that support essential business and mission functions. You will be responsible for monitoring database performance, supporting backup and recovery efforts, implementing security controls, and assisting with database design and integration initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to work with enterprise database environments while collaborating with developers, engineers, system administrators, and customers to ensure database systems remain secure, reliable, and efficient.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Three (3) years of experience in database administration, database management, data administration, or a related information technology field
  • Knowledge of database administration principles and best practices
  • Knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery procedures
  • Knowledge of relational database concepts and data management processes
  • Ability to analyze and resolve database performance and operational issues
  • Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Proficiency with database management tools and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance if required

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or Federal Government programs
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization
  • Experience supporting backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
  • Experience working with enterprise database environments

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, maintain, and monitor database systems and applications
  • Administer database environments to ensure availability, reliability, and performance
  • Perform database backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery support activities
  • Monitor database performance and recommend improvements to optimize efficiency
  • Implement and maintain database security controls, permissions, and user access
  • Troubleshoot database issues and support problem resolution efforts
  • Support database design, development, and implementation activities
  • Assist with data migration, conversion, and integration efforts
  • Develop and maintain database documentation, procedures, and reports
  • Coordinate with system administrators, developers, engineers, and customers to support mission requirements
  • Ensure database environments comply with organizational policies and technical requirements
