The role assists with operational tasks, troubleshooting, system monitoring, and updates across multiple platforms.

Requirements

  • One year as an Applications Developer 1 or Information Technology Generalist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Four years of information technology experience that includes one year in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration or in the analysis and design in overall support of data administration
  • Two years of information technology experience that includes one year in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration or in the analysis and design in overall support of data administration, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field
  • A bachelor's degree in any information technology field
  • Six months or more of full-time professional experience with Linux operating systems
  • Six months or more of full-time professional experience with Oracle database administration
  • Six months or more of full-time professional experience with Erwin Data Modeler software
  • Meet the PA residency requirement
  • Be able to perform essential job functions
  • Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned database tasks and assist with maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Review performance, space usage and operational jobs to prevent downtime
  • Support backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes to protect critical information
  • Evaluate logical and physical data models and contribute to solid design practices
  • Assist with audit requirements and help maintain secure access standards
  • Provide direction and training to staff on database tools, processes and best practices
