About The Position

The Database Advisor provides leadership in the design, implementation, and maintenance of databases. The role performs root cause analysis, coding, testing, documentation, and implementation for multiple large development projects. It is responsible for database quality control and auditing to ensure accurate and appropriate data use. The Database Advisor serves as a team lead liaison between business customers, development, and support groups, coaches less senior DBAs, ensures deliverables, and performs other duties as assigned.

The position is eligible for telecommuting and may be located anywhere in the United States except Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, plus 5 years of work experience in an information technology or engineering environment; alternatively, a relevant master’s degree plus 3 years of such work experience.
• Experience with advanced Cloud/Teradata Vantage database optimization and performance tuning.
• Experience with advanced Cloud/Teradata Vantage SQL for applications and reporting.
• Experience with advanced Shell, PowerShell, or Python scripting for automation.
• Experience with advanced data security and compliance.
• Experience with advanced database management.
• Experience with advanced cloud data platform design and development.
• Experience with advanced data engineering.
• Experience with advanced analytics and reporting design and development.
• One year of directly related experience may be substituted for one year of education.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in database solution design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Perform root cause analysis, coding, testing, documentation, and implementation for multiple large development projects.
• Conduct database quality control and auditing to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data.
• Serve as team lead liaison between business customers, development, and support groups.
• Coach less senior DBAs.
• Ensure deliverables.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
