Under administrative direction, this position performs advanced analysis, design, technical coding, and database management tasks to resolve complex application database issues. The Database Administrator is responsible for providing technical support for the database environment, including overseeing the development and organization of databases, assessment, reporting, and implementation of new technologies. This role provides technical and strategic direction on all TCC databases, including advising and consulting with management, teams, system developers, and external customers. The position maintains the database application environment and supports multiple customers utilizing the college’s mission-critical applications. It also provides database administration support for all database software and utilities for TCC mission-critical applications, not limited to MS SQL Server. The role involves planning and participating in scheduled disaster recovery exercises, ensuring all databases have recovery plans, and all services meet TCC standards and requirements. Additionally, the Database Administrator is responsible for installing software and making changes into production environments while mitigating or minimizing customer impacts. The position also involves developing and maintaining reports for TCC reporting requirements in SSRS and other BI platforms, designing, coding, testing, and documenting new or modified reports and their interfaces with other applications and programs. Furthermore, it includes developing ETL tasks in SSIS to support multiple systems or applications where data import or export is necessary, such as developing and supporting SQL Server interfaces for other TCC applications like OnBase and Slate.
