About The Position

The City of Phoenix is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to provide advanced database administration, reporting, and technical support for the Police Department's Premier One Records Management System (RMS). The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, SSRS, database security, query optimization, and reporting in a large enterprise environment. The work schedule is hybrid, with 75% onsite and 25% remote after onboarding. This position requires local Arizona candidates only and availability for in-person interviews within one week of the posting close date. The candidate must be able to start within two weeks of receiving an offer. The role involves handling sensitive Police Department data.

  • Advanced experience with Microsoft SQL Server

  • Proficiency with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS): Report Design, Deployment, Administration

  • Experience with Data Quality
  • Experience with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
  • Experience with Database Security Best Practices
  • Experience documenting database changes, workflows, and report specifications

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Administer SQL Server permissions and security for SSRS reports
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects
  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain SSRS reports
  • Gather reporting requirements and validate data accuracy
  • Troubleshoot SQL, reporting, and database performance issues
  • Ensure compliance with CJIS security requirements and IT governance standards
  • Document database changes, permissions, and reporting solutions
  • Improve reporting efficiency, data quality, and system integrations
