About The Position

The client is seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator to support mission-critical Oracle database environments. This role focuses on Oracle database administration, infrastructure modernization, performance optimization, security compliance, and high availability for enterprise ERP systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing Oracle 19c and newer databases, Oracle Grid Infrastructure, ASM, RAC/Clusterware, Oracle GoldenGate, Active Data Guard, and database upgrades to Oracle 23ai. This position is fully remote; however, if business needs change, a hybrid schedule may be required in Austin, Texas.

Requirements

8+ years of Oracle Database Administration (Oracle 19c or higher)
8+ years supporting Oracle Grid Infrastructure (ASM, Clusterware)
8+ years with Oracle High Availability technologies: GoldenGate Active Data Guard
8+ years of advanced Linux and SQL scripting
Strong experience with: Oracle database upgrades
Strong experience with: Performance tuning
Strong experience with: Database security
Strong experience with: Backup & Recovery (RMAN)
Strong experience with: Disaster Recovery
Strong experience with: ETL database environments
Strong experience with: Oracle patching and maintenance

Nice To Haves

4+ years supporting Federal, State, or Local Government agencies
Experience working with managed hosting vendors
Oracle PeopleSoft administration experience
Strong experience supporting enterprise Oracle ERP environments is highly preferred.
Candidates should be comfortable supporting multiple concurrent ERP implementations and upgrades.
Experience maintaining highly available, secure Oracle environments in production is essential.

Responsibilities

Design, administer, and maintain enterprise Oracle database environments.
Perform Oracle database upgrades from Oracle 19c to Oracle 23ai.
Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Grid Infrastructure (ASM & Clusterware).
Support Oracle High Availability solutions including: Oracle GoldenGate Active Data Guard
Perform database performance tuning and optimization.
Monitor database health, storage utilization, and system performance.
Support multiple development, QA, UAT, and production environments.
Maintain ETL database environments supporting enterprise applications.
Develop and maintain Linux and SQL automation scripts.
Implement Oracle security best practices and vulnerability remediation.
Perform backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and database restoration activities.
Troubleshoot production database issues and provide root cause analysis.
Support database patching, maintenance windows, and after-hours deployments.
Create technical documentation and operational procedures.
Collaborate with application teams, developers, and infrastructure engineers.
