About The Position

The Database Administrator II will work under general supervision and be responsible for conceptualizing, defining, planning, and engineering the integration of all software requirements in support of this contract, subject to Government approval. This role is responsible for developing the Army Centralized ASR System (ACAS) to ensure functionality is consistent with emerging COMSAT technologies and that these technologies are supported and managed within ACAS. This encompasses web development and database development requirements. The Database Administrator II will monitor logs and usage statistics, update resource configurations, troubleshoot database problems, perform systems backups, and be responsible for system security. They will design and use database management systems and implement security concepts associated with this position. The Database Administrator II will supervise the overall execution of database design and software development to ensure the technical interface supports tracking satellite bandwidth and availability of requested satellite airtime. This role involves preparing periodic management customer reports and presentations, assisting in preparing for progress review meetings with CIO/G6 and NETCOM leadership, and recommending new software processes to improve ACAS functionality and serviceability. The contractor shall perform duties in both Unclassified and Classified (SECRET) work environments.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and training.
  • 4 -8 years’ experience.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent to meet DoD Approved DoD 8570.01-M / DoD 8140 Category IAT Level II Baseline Certification.

  • Possess organization skills to manage multiple projects and complete tasks quickly within the constraints of established timelines and budgets.
  • Experience with VB, C#, ASP.NET, XML, LINQ, AJAX, JavaScript, CSS and SQL Server.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Army Centralized ASR System (ACAS) and Commercial Satellite (COMSAT) Master Scheduling Database (CMSDB) to fill COMSAT requirements.
  • Perform duties in both Unclassified and Classified (SECRET) work environments.
  • Provide recommendations for licensed software purchases to assist with development needs.
  • Test and integrate special purpose software to ensure systems meet business and technical requirements.
  • Maintain software applications, database packages, compilers, assemblers, and utility programs.
  • Test, debug, and refine computer software to produce the required product.
  • Prepare required documentation, including project plans and software program documentation.
  • Design and use database management systems.
  • Provide support in the coordination between Army entities to prepare and/or support COMSAT planning, scheduling of satellite air time, and de-confliction of COMSAT bandwidth.
  • Ensure master scheduling processes are consistent with existing Army requirements, NETCOM processes, and the Army service access to the Regional Hub Node (RHN) and modify ACAS to reflect these requirements.
  • Assist in assessing trends and tendencies relative to mission progress, provide query based reports/charts, and conduct analysis based on route query and reporting capability to assess scheduling effectiveness.
  • Conduct backups, old data purges, archives, and other database functions to ensure CMSDB and ACAS integrity.
  • Assist the conceptualization, definition, planning, and development for integration of all software requirements in support of this contract.
  • Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
  • Support, maintain, and document software functionality.
