As a Database Admin II on the Technology team, a typical day for you will include: Develop and maintain database systems, including design, implementation, and ongoing optimization. Ensure the performance, security, and availability of our database systems, including planning and executing backups and disaster recovery plans. Design and implement database security measures to protect sensitive data, including access controls, encryption, and data masking. Collaborate with developers and other IT staff to best design database systems as well as troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, such as performance problems or data inconsistencies. Develop and maintain documentation of database systems, including system architecture, configuration, and operational procedures. Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as database optimization, capacity planning, and performance tuning. Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss. Bring your skills and be inspired to achieve success.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in database administration, with a focus on SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
  • Strong experience with database design, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of database security concepts and experience implementing security measures.
  • Experience with database backup and recovery procedures, including disaster recovery planning.
  • Familiarity with database migration and upgrade procedures.
  • Candidate must be customer focused, goal oriented, and have a passion for success
  • Experience and proven ability to communicate (verbally and written) effectively with business and IT stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Able to lead other database staff regarding best practices and techniques
  • Able to clearly document complex database systems and structures including architectures, relationships, and configurations
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or a related field
