About The Position

The Assessment Administrator is responsible for assisting the Dean for Assessment and Accreditation with evaluations of courses, faculty, academic programs, and student learning by collecting, analyzing, and reporting on various data within the College of Pharmacy. Responsibilities include the design, implementation, and maintenance of databases and other technologies used in the collection, management, and reporting of data.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma and two years' work experience in systems development and maintenance, technical support, or the support of database management systems.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Access (creating/editing tables, reports, queries, macros, etc.), and have strong skills in all Microsoft Apps, in particular PowerBI and PowerApps.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, amends, optimizes, and certifies database schema design to meet system(s) requirements.
  • Gathers, analyzes, and normalizes relevant information related to business processes, functions, and operations to evaluate data credibility and determine relevance and meaning.
  • Assists in the development and design of database and warehouse applications across multiple platforms and computing environments.
  • Assists in the development of an overall data architecture that supports the information needs of the business in a flexible but secure environment.
  • Responsible for implementing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software.
  • The Database Administrator will design data management systems for the purpose of collecting, reporting and analyzing assessment data for the college. This includes writing codes, functions, queries, and reports, and testing programming for in-house custom Microsoft Access or other databases.
  • Manages security access to databases and ensures appropriate back up of data.
  • Responsible for the integrity of data and creating mechanisms to validate data. Creates and administers procedures for ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.
  • Responsible for input, transfer or importation of data into data collections system including but not limited to the following data management systems: students, grades, self-assessments, co-curricular, elective course tracking, and Naplex/Pre-Naplex/MPJE/Pre-MJPE/NAPLEX Advantage results.
  • Design, build, testing, and updating of college’s syllabus database program.
  • Provides technical support to faculty use of the syllabus database.
  • Ensures updated curriculum mapping via maintenance of the syllabus database.
  • Pulls data for the curriculum committee to assist with curricular and course reviews as needed.
  • Imports data into PowerBi for curriculum committee review.
  • Exports data for faculty teaching calculation yearly from syllabus database.
  • Exports data from ExamSoft, Brightspace, and the syllabus database to create course coordinator reports twice a year and distributes to faculty.
  • The Assessment Administrator will design and develop data collection systems using REDCap for student satisfaction and other required surveys and conducts end-user training when applicable.
  • Assists faculty and administrators in the creation of projects to house rubrics and other scoring tools for data collection.
  • Creates queries and exports of REDCap data for analysis per special requests.
  • Exports data from COREELMS and creates a report of IPPE and APPE EPA data for the experiential team 3 times a year.
  • Manages annual promotion of students in accordance with academic performance and scholastic standing in the Microsoft Access.
  • Works with the Associate Dean of Student Affairs to accurately maintain the student database and reporting to ACPE and AACP via yearly survey.
  • Maintains and administers AACP faculty, graduating student, and preceptor surveys in the AACP system and pulls and compiles data for review when surveys close.
  • Pulls, tracks, and analyzes data from NABP for NAPLEX and MPJE pass rates throughout the year for review.
  • Creates/distributes grade sheet and assists faculty with grade calculations.
  • Reports weekly on assessment grades from Brightspace and Examsoft for P1-P3 classes.
  • Uses Brightspace, ExamSoft and COREELMs to track grade assignments.
  • Pulls data from Brightspace, ExamSoft and COREELMs for tracking and reporting.
  • Serves as the primary administrator for the didactic university evaluation system and manages course and instructor evaluation templates in compliance with MUSC university standards.
  • Provides technical support to students regarding the completion of course and faculty evaluations and to faculty on the process of accessing their reports.
  • Creates semester faculty evaluation schedules for P1-P3 students for approximately 30 courses.
  • Prepares and distributes compliance reports to the Assistant Dean for Assessment and Accreditation.
  • Serves on the university-wide evaluation committee and College of Pharmacy (COP) Assessment committee.
  • Provides administrative assistance to the COP Assessment committee.
  • Ensures that assessment data required to be publicly reported as outlined in the college’s ACPE accreditation requirements is accurately reported on the College of Pharmacy website and updated in accordance with the guidelines.
  • Serves on and participates in the COP Web Committee.
  • Prepares data for and completes the annual assessment report, including collection of data, development of tables and formatting techniques to report on all key data points.
  • Creates PowerPoint presentation of assessment data for presentation at the annual fall faculty meeting.
  • Assist in pulling data and preparing reports for ACPE accreditation self-study.
  • Learns new systems as necessary to provide assessment services to the college.
  • Provides support to the Assistant Dean for Assessment and Accreditation on special projects as the need arises.
