The Database Administrator I plans, maintains, and supports computerized databases including definition, structure, documentation, long‑range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection. This is an intermediate‑level professional role capable of carrying out most assignments typical of the profession with limited guidance or review. This level would be considered a promotional level and attainable by incumbents who demonstrate the necessary knowledge, ability, and performance. The role may be the only professional in this specialty within a work group. Within Public Safety & Justice (PSJ), this role ensures the stability, availability, and integrity of underlying databases and integrations that support time‑sensitive public safety operations, investigative processes, and inter‑agency coordination. Performs work under general supervision with review and advice from a manager or senior‑level professional.
