About The Position

This role requires a seasoned Database Administrator with extensive experience in managing Software AG Adabas and Natural environments. The primary focus will be on administering Adabas databases and Natural Security in production settings, ensuring robust data access and security. The position involves hands-on work with various tools and processes, including environment refreshes, backup/restore, performance tuning, and scripting. A strong understanding of the Software AG stack and best practices for data management and security in regulated environments is essential. The role also offers opportunities to engage with broader Software AG tools and contribute to platform modernization efforts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of eight years managing Software AG Adabas and Natural.
  • Hands-on experience administering Adabas databases and Natural Security (Software AG stack) in production environments.
  • Working knowledge of CONNX or comparable Adabas data access tools, including installation, configuration, and user enablement.
  • Proficiency with environment refreshes, backup/restore procedures, performance tuning, and scripting (e.g., Natural utilities).
  • Practical experience implementing role-based access control, security reviews, and audit documentation for regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with SDLC/change control across dev/test/prod.
  • Experience maintaining a formal data dictionary.
  • Experience with broader Software AG tools (e.g., NaturalONE, Predict, EntireX).
  • Knowledge of DDM management best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Software AG Adabas and Natural environments in production.
  • Administer Adabas databases and Natural Security.
  • Install, configure, and enable users for CONNX or comparable Adabas data access tools.
  • Perform environment refreshes, backup/restore procedures, and performance tuning.
  • Develop and utilize scripts (e.g., Natural utilities) for database management.
  • Implement role-based access control and conduct security reviews.
  • Prepare audit documentation for regulated environments.
  • Maintain a formal data dictionary.
  • Manage DDM (Data Manipulation Language) effectively.
  • Utilize broader Software AG tools such as NaturalONE, Predict, and EntireX.
