About The Position

As part of NBT’s Internship Program, currently enrolled college students have the opportunity to explore various departments within NBT Bank, including Accounting and Finance, IT, Human Resources, Marketing, and others. Interns will gain practical experience, work on meaningful projects, and learn from experienced professionals in a variety of fields. We currently have an opportunity that will provide temporary project-based support for data warehousing and reporting solutions. This role involves developing and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines, supporting data quality, governance, and reporting initiatives, creating dashboards and analytical reports, and collaborating with business and technical teams to achieve project objectives.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in a related field.
  • Experience with data engineering, warehousing, BI, or analytics.
  • Ability to independently manage project deliverables.
  • Microsoft Fabric, Airflow, dbt, SQL, Python.
  • Data warehouse architecture and dimensional modeling.
  • Power BI dashboard development.
  • Data governance and quality controls.
  • Advanced Excel and stakeholder communication skills.

  • Experience with cloud data platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide temporary project-based support for data warehousing and reporting solutions.
  • Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Support data quality, governance, and reporting initiatives.
  • Create dashboards and analytical reports.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Assisting with daily tasks.
  • Project support – collaborating on team projects, assisting with ongoing projects by providing research, creating reports, and/or supporting team members.
  • Contributing ideas during brainstorming sessions or team meetings.
  • Preparing presentations by creating slides, reports, or any materials for internal presentations.
  • Learning and Development – shadowing professionals through observation of full-time employees to understand work process.
  • Attend training sessions and participate in workshops and learning new tools and systems.
  • Special Assignments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
