About The Position

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is seeking an experienced Data Warehouse Analyst / Power BI Developer to support the design, development, and optimization of enterprise business intelligence and reporting solutions. This role will focus on building high-performance Power BI semantic models, dashboards, paginated reports, and enterprise analytics integrated with Snowflake. The selected consultant will collaborate with data engineers, business stakeholders, and technical teams to develop scalable reporting solutions, optimize SQL and Snowflake performance, and deliver reliable, data-driven insights across the organization. The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in Power BI, DAX, SQL, dimensional data modelling, and Snowflake, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of overall IT experience working with Business Intelligence technologies.
3–5 years of hands-on experience developing enterprise Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
Proven experience designing enterprise reporting and analytical solutions.
Experience working independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Power BI dataflows, semantic models, and reporting solutions.
Create intuitive, interactive, and high-performance Power BI dashboards and analytical reports.
Develop advanced DAX calculations, KPIs, and business logic.
Build and maintain paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder.
Develop and optimize complex SQL queries utilizing CTEs, window functions, and advanced analytical techniques.
Retrieve, transform, and prepare Snowflake data for enterprise reporting and analytics.
Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimize fact and dimension tables for Power BI consumption.
Integrate Power BI with Snowflake using appropriate connection modes and best practices.
Optimize report performance through query tuning, model optimization, and efficient data design.
Troubleshoot issues related to Power BI, DAX, SQL, semantic models, and Snowflake compute resources.
Maintain metadata, data lineage documentation, report specifications, and technical documentation.
Translate business requirements into scalable semantic models and enterprise reporting solutions.
Work closely with business users, SMEs, developers, and technical teams to deliver analytical solutions.
Support ongoing enhancements, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise reporting platforms.
