About The Position

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is seeking a Data Analyst / Power BI Analyst to support the Office of Work Program and Budget (OWPB). This role will focus on data analysis, business requirements gathering, dashboard development, reporting, process improvement, and application support. The ideal candidate will have experience working with SQL, Power BI, data visualization, and business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and support modernization initiatives.

Requirements

1–3 years of experience in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, Reporting, or Application Support.
Experience with SQL and relational databases.
Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools.
Knowledge of data cleansing, transformation, and reporting methodologies.
Experience gathering business requirements and documenting processes.
Understanding of software testing and quality assurance practices.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
Familiarity with Visual Studio.
Exposure to Informatica, Snowflake, or other data integration platforms.
Experience supporting web-based applications and reporting environments.
Government or public-sector experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Gather, analyze, and interpret data to support business and operational decisions.
Work with stakeholders to identify business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar tools.
Perform data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and integration from multiple data sources.
Monitor dashboard performance and implement enhancements based on user feedback.
Assist with process analysis, workflow documentation, and system improvement initiatives.
Support testing activities, including test case creation and validation of system enhancements.
Troubleshoot and resolve basic application and reporting issues.
Maintain project documentation, requirements, risks, issues, and deliverables.
Support automated reporting solutions and data modernization efforts.
Collaborate with technical and business teams to ensure successful project delivery.
