About The Position

Ignite Digital is seeking a Data Visualization Specialist to design and implement visualizations that support Navy decision-making. The specialist will translate complex datasets into intuitive dashboards, reports, and presentations that help Navy leaders interpret operational, financial, readiness, and mission data. The role involves close collaboration with Navy stakeholders, data analysts, architects, and program leadership to ensure visual insights are accurate, actionable, secure, and aligned with Navy mission needs.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience designing and developing data visualizations.
Proficiency with Tableau, Power BI, D3.js, Qlik Sense, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of data analysis, statistical concepts, and data storytelling.
Experience with SQL, data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing environments.
Knowledge of UI/UX design principles, dashboard layout techniques, and user-centered design.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Active DoW SECRET clearance.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Science, Data Visualization, Design, or a related field.
Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be subject to a government security investigation.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement interactive dashboards, reports, and visual presentations for Navy stakeholders.
Select and apply suitable visualization techniques, including charts, graphs, maps, geospatial visuals, trend displays, and hierarchical visuals.
Ensure clarity, accuracy, and integrity of visual outputs.
Engage stakeholders to gather visualization requirements, identify insights, and define key narratives.
Translate technical analysis into visuals accessible to technical and non-technical audiences.
Maintain visualization standards, design principles, and best-practice documentation.
Ensure dashboards and reports reflect governed, validated, and compliant Navy data sources.
Verify data accuracy, lineage integrity, and consistency across views.
Present dashboards and visual insights to program leadership, operators, analysts, and mission partners.
Explain trends, anomalies, and key takeaways to support Navy decision-making.
Stay current with modern visualization tools, techniques, and UI/UX patterns.
Document visualization methodologies, style guides, and workflows.
Support the maturity of visualization practices aligned with Ignite’s DoD analytics capabilities.
