About The Position

The data technician is an entry level member of the analytics teams on a path to become an expert in the various systems and technologies utilized. This team member will be introduced to modern security requirements and best practices for the various supported platforms. The systems often support 3000+ employees and therefore the individual will begin to understand the breadth and depth of enterprise-wide deployments and solutions. Having service-oriented skills is paramount as this position will often interface with system users for improvements and strategy of each of the systems. The individual will either focus on Business Intelligence systems or Data Warehouse systems, and in some cases a mix of both. The individual will become familiar with business process and needs to understand the overall impact they have for the Credit Union.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in a STEM field or equivalent professional experience (typically 4+ years working in STEM field profession).
  • 1+ years of experience working an Information Technology or Analytics field.
  • 1+ years of experience working on projects that were highly team oriented.
  • 1+ years of experience working on helpdesk related teams.
  • Experienced in a work environment with the terminology and processes of project management.
  • Experience with administration of modern BI and DW tools and platforms.
  • Experienced working within enterprise data warehouse environment platforms such as Snowflake, Exadata, Teradata.
  • Experience with at least one business intelligence platform such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, MicroStrategy, etc.
  • Experience with Ticketing, and Project Management tools such as those offered in the Atlassian stack (Jira and Confluence).
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and react to problems quickly.
  • Must have prior experience developing analytical solutions in large or midsize companies.
  • Must be able to translate concepts and directions into practical solutions.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive data and meet critical deadlines.
  • Excellent understanding of SQL, PL/SQL and ELT implementation.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a team player.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of the financial services industry desired.
  • Experience with dashboard design and delivery desired.
  • Programming experience with 4th generation and 3rd generation computer languages such as Python and R desired.
  • Experience with multiple relational database platforms, Oracle and SQL Server desired.

Responsibilities

  • Field general requests as they relate to data solutions.
  • Serve as the first point of contact to correct errors on existing deliverables produced from AIM.
  • Understand how to navigate and train on our enterprise data dictionary.
  • Work with the Analytics & Information Management manager to enhance quality of service.
  • Support external groups within the Data & Analytics division, especially the vision of the Vice President of Data & Analytics.
  • Maintain understanding of current professional and cutting edge Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse technologies and solutions.
