The Ovintiv Operations Shared Services team has an exciting opportunity in our Grande Prairie Office for an Asset Data Technician within the Canadian Operating Area. The Asset Data Technician under the direction of the Coordinator will support asset data management, regulatory asset tasks and provide asset/work order/ scheduling support within the Shared Services team. The role will work as a user (Not Programming) in several enterprise software suites and Microsoft Office applications. Applicants who are comfortable adopting AI tools in their work will be prioritized.

Requirements

  • Minimum grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail and communication skills required.
  • Aptitude to learn unique enterprise software applications.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in oil and gas, operations support, asset management, or high-volume administrative/data roles is preferred.
  • Experience working with invoicing systems, enterprise software, or operational data environments is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with or interest in AI-enabled tools, data automation, or digital process improvement initiatives is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage high-volume invoicing across Operations and Maintenance, ensuring accuracy, coding consistency, and timely processing across BC and AB production regions.
  • Support vendor management activities including onboarding, maintaining coding structures, and ensuring adherence to invoicing standards and workflows.
  • Coordinate Fleet, GeoTab, and Blackline systems, including unit associations, troubleshooting, reporting, and device management across multiple regions.
  • Maintain and support digital asset and operational data within enterprise systems, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Support office operations for Grande Prairie and Dawson Creek, including office maintenance, supplies, pool vehicles, and shipping/receiving.
  • Coordinate field tours, team events, and catering requirements, ensuring logistics, equipment, and resources are effectively managed.
  • Provide day-to-day operational support across a broad range of ad hoc requests and evolving team needs.
  • Support the identification and implementation of process improvements, including the use of AI-enabled tools and automation (e.g., invoice processing, data validation, workflow enhancements) to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
