This role provides hybrid support, requiring both onsite and remote work, with approximately 3 days onsite in Dayton. The administrator must be able to respond to the work location in under 2 hours in case of an emergency call. The primary responsibility is to provide technical support to the data center, managing data storage solutions and services. This includes monitoring data storage utilization, providing data utilization analysis and reports, and documenting, reviewing, and maintaining data storage management procedures. The role also involves managing storage software and hardware licensing and support agreements, assisting with the escalation of storage problems, and coordinating with vendor support personnel. Additionally, the administrator will assist with the configuration of storage products, maintaining data backup and recovery software configuration, maintaining the data storage environment configuration, managing data storage software and documentation, and assisting in the development, maintenance, testing, and execution of disaster recovery plans, including the preparation of disaster recovery test plans. Daily checks on storage and backup hardware and software are required, with research and implementation of mitigation strategies and solutions for any failures or anomalies found. Environments include NetBackup, Pure, Cohesity, AWS, and MS-Azure backup. Weekly, daily, and as-needed detailed reporting on project status, storage checks, etc., is also a key responsibility, utilizing methods such as email, spreadsheet updates, OneNote maintenance, and weekly activity report submissions.
