About The Position

United Way of Connecticut is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical Data Steward to support the quality and maintenance of Child Care Services program data. In this role, you will ensure data integrity, support system testing, maintain business process documentation, and verify child care provider training requirements. You will collaborate across teams to identify trends, resolve data issues, and ensure accurate and available information for program needs. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field and one year of experience; or Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field and three years of experience; or One year of post-secondary education and five years of experience.
  • Knowledge of operational processes and data systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in day-to-day duties.

Responsibilities

  • Define data elements and assist in establishing policies and procedures related to the collection and accuracy of data.
  • Document, implement and support database usage standards.
  • Develop and maintain business process documentation.
  • Research, evaluate and verify providers’ completion of Provider Orientation Project (POP) training.
  • Communicate verified provider results to appropriate Care 4 Kids and 211 Child Care team members.
  • Assess and monitor data to ensure quality, consistency and integrity.
  • Create and deliver ad-hoc and institutional reports.
  • Collaborate with key business team members to resolve issues related to data standards and definitions.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing to ensure defined system requirements are met.
  • Collect and analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends.
  • Report outcomes and measurements and recommend opportunities for improvement.
  • Enter accurate case data, including narrative and statistical records of client contacts.
  • Maintain reporting schedules to ensure defined deliverables are accurate and completed on time.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of current systems, identify opportunities for improvement and recommend solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • $24.79–$32.98/hour, based on relevant experience, education and internal equity.
