About The Position

TEKsystems is seeking a Data Scientist for one of our large clients based in Chicago. This is a 100% remote and long-term contract position. The role involves working with a large volume of unstructured, largely unlabeled data with limited identifiers, making traditional supervised learning difficult. The candidate should have experience working with messy, incomplete enterprise datasets. The ideal candidate is research-minded, not just a model user, with evidence of owning and designing ML solutions from scratch. They should possess a strong problem-solving framework, structured thinking, and the ability to articulate the logic behind every major project decision.

• Experience in insurance, risk management, fraud detection, or claims analytics
• Experience with claim severity modeling or risk scoring
• Experience with record linkage, entity resolution, or fuzzy matching
• Familiarity with AWS, SageMaker, Snowflake, or similar platforms
• Familiarity with MLOps practices (model versioning, monitoring, retraining)

Nice To Haves

• Experience supporting BI/reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
