About The Position

As a Senior Data Scientist at Walmart, you will leverage advanced analytical techniques and domain expertise to identify, develop, and deploy data-driven solutions that enhance business outcomes. The team leads Walmart Search’s data science and measurement strategy, collaborating with senior leaders to drive business growth. They develop analytical roadmaps focused on ranking, relevance, and monetization while building an advanced self-serve analytics platform to accelerate insights. The team designs and executes large-scale experimentation programs, including A/B testing across search ranking, user interface, and monetization features. By applying advanced analytics and machine learning, they prioritize innovation and impact to enhance customer experience and business outcomes. Strong leadership, project management, and collaboration skills are essential to their success.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in data science and advanced analytical modeling techniques, including machine learning and statistical methods.
  • Proficiency in Python programming and data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Plotly, or Tableau to communicate complex insights effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of data source identification, data quality assessment, and data governance principles within distributed data environments.
  • Ability to develop, test, validate, and deploy scalable analytical models aligned with business objectives.
  • Demonstrated expertise in translating business requirements into data-driven solutions and providing actionable recommendations.
  • Experience mentoring junior associates and collaborating cross-functionally to drive data-enabled decision-making.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
