About The Position

As a collaborative Data Scientist, you will use and suggest new tools to optimize models and policies, leveraging thousands of data points from a variety of LexisNexis Risk Solutions productions including ThreatMetrix, Emailage, BehavioSec, Fraud Intelligence, PhoneFinder and others on the Dynamic Decision Platform. This client-facing team is driving evidence-based solutions to help clients make more informed decisions, mitigate risk, and build trust for their customers. LexisNexis Risk Solutions provides customers with innovative technologies, information-based analytics, decisioning tools, and data management services to help them solve problems, make better decisions, stay compliant, reduce risk, and improve operations. It operates within the Risk market segment of RELX, a global provider of information-based analytics and decision tools for professional and business customers.

Requirements

• Experience with Git and Jira to help guide and scope research projects are required.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, Excel and LUA plus quantitative skills.
• Ability to quickly learn about new tools.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Multi-tasking and prioritization skills.

• Recent examples of innovation include design of a globally adopted genetic algorithm, feature engineering over cellphone sensor data, centralized code repository, network analysis over UK banking industry.
• Leverage BI tools to identify and respond to anomalies and emerging industry trends (e.g. SuperSet, PowerBI, Snowflake, CoPilot, Jupyter).
• Build an extensive knowledge of cybercrime and become an SME for all industries that we support (Financial Services, E-commerce, Gaming, Telecommunications).

Responsibilities

• Use and suggest new tools and scripts to optimize models and policies leveraging thousands of data points from the ThreatMetrix Digital Identity Network as well as other LexisNexis Risk Solutions products on the Dynamic Decision Platform.
• Scope, plan and deliver customer-focused projects including proof of values, proactive analytics, go-lives, optimizations, and custom models.
• Inspire and support research that further improves the capabilities and tools available within the team.
• Clearly explain complex patterns of behavior using data and models in a simple manner to non-technical audiences.
• Develop and maintain strong best practices for the team to further scale and grow and help streamline deliverables.
• Collaboration with LexisNexis Risk Solutions teams including Products, Engineering, Sales and your colleagues to continually share and redefine best practices and help shape and improve our products.
• Stay ahead of the industry trends by continuously thinking of new ways to apply our tools and solutions to customer problems across different industries.
• Help the team by thinking outside the box.
• Scope, plan, and deliver on customer analytical requests.
• Help the team deliver complex analytics and difficult customer problems.
• Use strong knowledge of SQL, Python, Excel and LUA plus quantitative skills to deliver insight which will help capture evolving fraudster behaviors.
• Ability to quickly learn about new tools to help the team with their deliverables.
• Be constantly curious and have strong problem-solving skills to help transform uncertainty into value-add opportunities for our customers.
• Use strong attention to detail and ability to craft a story through data, delivering industry-leading presentations for external and executive audiences.
• Leverage BI tools to identify and respond to anomalies and emerging industry trends (e.g. SuperSet, PowerBI, Snowflake, CoPilot, Jupyter).
