About The Position

Parsons is seeking a Data Scientist to join their Federal Solutions team, supporting the INDOPACOM customer. This role involves leveraging Python for big data analytics, working with both structured and unstructured data to develop automated analytic solutions for critical mission sets. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders, interpret data, and educate users on data insights, contributing to defense, security, intelligence, infrastructure, and environmental solutions. Requirements

  • 5+ years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, working with structured and unstructured data with the ability to automate data processing and analysis tasks.
  • Experience with data preprocessing, normalization, and fusion techniques using Python.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills for tracking requests and project fulfillment.
  • Active DoD Top Secret-level security clearance with SCI eligibility and CI poly (or ability to obtain a Top Secret SCI w/Polygraph clearance prior to the start date).
  • Flexibility regarding work locations, which may include several sites on Oahu.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., matplotlib) and big data technologies (e.g., Pandas, Spark).
  • Capable of intuitively solving complex problems, working independently, with minimal guidance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience supporting an INDOPACOM or US Army customer.
  • Experience supporting USINDOPACOM intelligence and/or operations.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and techniques, particularly for geo-spatial and geo-temporal analysis.
  • Experience building tools, analytics, and applications in Jupyter Notebook.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit-learn, PyTorch).
  • Experience working with national signals intelligence databases and interfaces.
  • Background knowledge of SATCOM and RF fundamentals.
  • Proficient in SQL, Lucene, or other Query Syntax.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and meet objectives; perform data collection, analysis, and interpretation to support strategic initiatives.
  • Explain complex, technically difficult information in an easily understood manner to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Educate and mentor on how to effectively use and interpret data, ensuring users can independently derive insights and make informed decisions.
  • Develop automation and time-saving scripts to optimize workflows and fulfill big data analysis requirements.
