Data Scientist Intern, Geotab Ace (Fall/September 2026, 8+ Months)
About The Position
Geotab is seeking a Data Scientist Intern to help discover value from its rich and large datasets. The ideal candidate will possess strong mathematical and statistical expertise, combined with natural curiosity and a creative mind. This role involves mining, interpreting, and cleaning data, asking questions, connecting dots, and uncovering hidden opportunities to realize the data's full potential. The intern will join a team of data specialists and will independently analyze data using their own methods to create new visions for the future. Requirements
- Graduate or Postgraduate Degree in Computer Science, Software/Electronics/Electrical Engineering, or any related field.
- Excellent understanding of Python and SQL.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with parallelization tools like Apache Beam and Spark.
- Experience with scheduling tools like Airflow.
- Advanced pattern recognition and predictive modeling experience.
- Graph Data Modeling experience.
- Experience with developing machine learning models.
- Experience in feature engineering.
- Experience working with Google Compute Engine.
- Experience working with Google BigQuery.
Responsibilities
- Produce innovative analytics from Geotab’s big data environment.
- Leverage data mining techniques, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Neural Networks, and other Artificial Intelligence and statistical analysis tools to build models and high-quality prediction systems.
- Help customers make informed and smarter decisions.
- Work closely with Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Professional Services, Data Privacy & Governance, firmware, Software Development, and Solutions Engineering departments.
- Develop a "Reasoning & Automation" solution to evolve Geotab Ace into a fully integrated, context-aware assistant.
- Implement a multi-modal ingestion layer capable of processing screen content, audio, and text simultaneously.
- Develop mechanisms to automatically enrich user prompts with environmental state.
- Extend the reasoning capabilities of the agent to guide users through complex workflows and offer proactive support.
- Refine the underlying RAG architecture and "text-to-SQL" generation for Google BigQuery.
