The Data Scientist Assistant 1 position is within the Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism, which boasts a rich tradition of clinical, investigative, and training excellence with over 70 faculty and staff. This division participates in a wide range of clinical programs and both clinical and basic science research, also focusing on training the next generation of physicians and scientists through programs in Endocrinology and Obesity Medicine, as well as funded T32 and T35 training programs. Data Scientists at VUMC perform detailed analyses of large, heterogeneous data sets to uncover new patterns and insights that can impact patient health or enhance human capabilities. They possess deep expertise in data analysis methods and a profound understanding of various data types, topics, scientific challenges, and approaches. This knowledge is crucial for informing and defining new products, experiences, and technologies. This specific role collaborates with Data Science and Informatics faculty to provide technical thought leadership and works closely with Informatics and IT teams to develop data and intelligence-driven systems designed to solve complex client problems.
