About The Position

As a Data Scientist in an AI Development pod at Ultimus, you design and validate AI approaches for fund administration workflows. You shape models, prompts, and agent logic, and own the measurement of accuracy, quality, and savings. You work in a small, cross-functional team with AI engineers, data engineers, AI analysts, and operations experts. The teams are supported by a dedicated AI Infrastructure team and a shared enterprise AI platform.

Responsibilities

• Work with operations experts to break workflows into steps and decide whether AI models, AI agents, rules, or people should handle each step.
• Design an appropriate AI approach for each task, including predictive models, LLM prompts and retrieval, or agent reasoning, and select suitable models.
• Build evaluation sets and metrics, including accuracy, exception rates, and review time, and run offline and online evaluations before and during pilots.
• Analyze pilot results, identify failure patterns, and improve solutions until they meet go-live targets.
• Measure time and cost savings for each workflow and report results to the program team.
• Package successful approaches into reusable patterns for future workflows.
