About The Position

As a Data Scientist 2, you will act as an internal business consultant to help optimize every facet of the organization. You will solve problems and answer questions using data for other departments to help reduce costs, reduce errors, and improve the organization for its members. Every day, you will help solve business problems presented by stakeholders using data. You will receive a scenario or problem, such as, “We need to reduce cycle times,” and then pull, analyze, and interpret data relevant to that scenario. You will pull data from SQL databases, analyze and interpret data using Python, R, or other tools, and determine patterns or trends and their statistical significance to the problem. Data visualization will be done using Tableau. Once analysis is complete, paired with a data engineer, you will present your findings to the stakeholder and confirm, refute, or acknowledge a hypothesis. Your work may be implemented or may develop into something else.

Requirements

• Solid foundation of statistics and data analysis.
• Ability to describe a project where data was pulled, analyzed, trends/patterns identified, significance determined, and insights/recommendations delivered.
• Proficiency with SQL for pulling data.
• Proficiency in either Python or R for curating and analyzing data.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Attitude of flexibility.
• Must reside within a 100-mile radius of the Coppell, TX office.
• Available to work on-site 3 days a week.
• Available to work on-site 2-3 times per month for team meetings and collaboration days.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Excel for data analysis.
