Data Scientist 2

Sentar•Fort Meade, MD

About The Position

Sentar is seeking a Data Scientist 2 in Columbia, Maryland. The role calls for a solid understanding of DX and XKS, proficiency in extracting VPN information for database integration, and expertise in CASNs and their influence on data selection. The Data Scientist will analyze and interpret data to produce insights and inform strategic decision-making. The position applies skills in at least two areas among mathematical, computational, and statistical foundations; data processing, management, curation, visualization, workflows, and reproducibility; and modeling, inference, and prediction. The Data Scientist develops strategies to extract meaning and value from large datasets and communicates principled conclusions using mathematics, statistics, computer science, and application-specific knowledge. Through analytic modeling, statistical analysis, programming, or other scientific methods, the role develops and implements qualitative and quantitative methods for characterizing, exploring, and assessing large datasets, accounting for the distinctive features and limitations of Government data holdings. The role translates mission needs and analytic questions into technical requirements, helps others draw appropriate conclusions from data analysis, and communicates complex technical information to non-technical audiences. It also makes informed recommendations among technical solutions while maintaining awareness of changing Government collection, processing, storage, and analytic capabilities and limitations.
