About The Position

Wealthsimple is seeking interns for its Data Science program for Fall 2026. This internship program is designed for co-op students, non-co-op students, and recent graduates, offering 4 to 8-month terms. Interns will contribute to projects that are transforming financial services in Canada. They will be part of a supportive team that provides mentorship and connects them to the broader Wealthsimple community. The program follows a hybrid work model, requiring interns to work from the Toronto headquarters on Wednesdays and Thursdays, balancing remote flexibility with in-person collaboration.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled as a student at a Canadian post-secondary institution or technical bootcamp
• New graduates - Within 6 months of your graduation date
• Available to work full-time hours
• Residing in Canada
• Able to commute to our Toronto HQ on Wednesdays and Thursdays
• At least 2 paid work terms completed
• Legally authorized to work in Canada (Wealthsimple does not provide immigration or relocation support for interns)
• Python-first environment with Pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy, and Jupyter
• SQL for data access and manipulation across large, production datasets
• Statistical foundations across both frequentist and Bayesian approaches
• Machine learning toolkit spanning regression, decision trees, and beyond
• Experimentation infrastructure for A/B testing and causal inference at scale

Responsibilities

• Contribute to projects that are changing the landscape of financial services for Canadians.
• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and business leaders to design experiments, build models, and surface insights.
• Design experiments, define metrics, and build data products that explain how clients actually use Wealthsimple.
• Build models and insights that power personalization, campaign strategy, and lifecycle optimization to grow net deposits sustainably.
