Data Science Intern
About The Position
The Internship Program is open for students who are pursuing their Bachelor’s degree with a graduation date between December 2027 – June 2028. The Internship Program runs from June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027. (10 weeks.) As a data science intern, you will get hands-on experience working in the Walgreens Tech ecosystem that serves millions of customers and patients every day. You will also get to participate in building, deploying, and maintaining scalable data science and ML applications, with unique opportunities to work alongside top scientists and engineers. You will be part of the Walgreens Tech brand that is well respected in tech circles and attracts the best talent in the industry. As part of the Walgreens Tech team, you will be part of the ecosystem that works to transform healthcare services for people in your neighborhood and across America.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program with 2 semesters remaining upon start date
- Experience communicating via written reports and presenting the information in a formal or classroom setting.
- Experience collaborating with teams
- Basic level skill in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Nice To Haves
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related quantitative discipline
- Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities
- Programming experience in Python, SQL, C++, Rust, or similar general purpose languages
Responsibilities
- Performs various activities that contribute to the strategy development process for the assigned business unit.
- Utilizes various tools and resources to analyze information and make recommendations to support the business.
- Provides general day to day support across the various divisions within Walgreens.
- Suggests recommendations to leadership for improving and updating policies and processes.
- May deliver a project aligning to strategic priorities and present to manager/leadership upon completion.
