About The Position

Q2 is a leading provider of digital banking and lending solutions to banks, credit unions, alternative finance companies, and fintechs in the U.S. and internationally. Our mission is simple: build strong and diverse communities through innovative financial technology—and we do that by empowering our people to help create success for our customers. This internship will provide exposure to how data science projects come together end-to-end, from defining a problem and exploring data, to prototyping solutions and seeing how they connect to the systems around them. Recent intern projects on this team and others have included building data pipelines and visualization dashboards for operational insights, and researching new approaches to emerging problems.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
Proficiency in Python and SQL
Coursework or project experience with machine learning algorithms and packages
Familiarity with Git or other version control tools
Curiosity, ownership, and a genuine interest in the field
Fluent written and oral communication in English
Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
Unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time

Nice To Haves

Exposure to cloud-native or service-oriented architectures
Familiarity with the broader software development life cycle

Responsibilities

Help define problems and refine requirements alongside the team
Explore data, prototype solutions, and support model development
Learn how upstream data pipelines and downstream UIs connect to the systems you're working on
Support testing, monitoring, and bug fixes, and help gather feedback to improve the product
