About The Position

This internship is for Summer 2027 and is designed for students to partner with experienced team members to understand business challenges and translate them into analytical questions. Interns will learn industry best practices for data preparation, exploratory analysis, feature engineering, and model development. They will gain exposure to machine learning and AI techniques including forecasting, classification, anomaly detection, and emerging generative AI applications. The internship is up to 40 hours per week and requires the intern to be in the greater Milwaukee area during the summer.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Data Science.
  • Ability to be in the greater Milwaukee area in the summer.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with experienced team members to understand business challenges and translate them into analytical questions.
  • Learn industry best practices for data preparation, exploratory analysis, feature engineering, and model development.
  • Gain exposure to machine learning and AI techniques including forecasting, classification, anomaly detection, and emerging generative AI applications.
  • Use tools and technologies such as Python, SQL, Snowflake data lake, Copilot Studio, Open-source LLMs, Vision Language Models, Decision intelligence tools, Azure Data Factory, Matillion, Power BI and Advanced Analytics tools to support analytics initiatives.
  • Participate in project discussions, brainstorming sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities with both technical and business teams.
  • Present findings, insights, and recommendations while receiving feedback that helps strengthen your analytical and communication skills.
  • Attend regular mentorship and development discussions focused on professional growth, career exploration, and continuous learning.
  • Learn how data science projects are delivered in a business environment, from problem definition through solution implementation and measurement.
