About The Position

Analytic Partners is hiring a Data Science Co-Op for its Science Team, part of the R&D Group that develops the algorithms and technologies powering the company’s analytics platform. The co-op will collaborate with an agile team to research, architect, implement, test, and deliver features and products. The role may also involve working with clients to develop customized models and solutions for business challenges.

The co-op applies quantitative analysis and data science methods to real-world problems and business needs. Participants conduct research, develop analytical solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams on client engagements and implementations, and help improve the company’s analytics platform. The position is a six- or eight-month co-op program, with a minimum commitment of six months, starting in January 2027. It is not eligible for visa sponsorship and is intended for undergraduate and graduate students graduating between 2027 and 2028.

Requirements

• Undergraduate or graduate student graduating between 2027 and 2028.
• Solid technical skills in probability and statistics, machine learning, and optimization algorithms.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Ability to set up and maintain Python environments, including virtual environments, dependency management, and package installations.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong work ethic, sense of ownership, and intellectual curiosity.
• Desire and ability to collaborate in a team environment.
• Commitment to at least six months.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to implement common machine learning algorithms from scratch, such as linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees, k-means clustering, and Bayesian regression.
• Linux skills.
• R skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct data analysis using various tools and techniques.
• Assist in documenting model specifications and implementation details.
• Assist team members in developing and implementing statistical, machine learning, and AI solutions, models, and algorithms.
• Communicate with stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements.
• Research data science methodologies and derive analytical solutions to expand the company’s capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional business teams on client engagements and implementation.
• Identify user pain points and help enhance the analytics platform.
• Research, architect, implement, test, and continuously deliver features and products.
