About The Position

Covenant House California (CHC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing sanctuary and support for youth aged 18-24 overcoming homelessness. CHC is committed to ensuring that every young person has access to housing, food, clothing, education, and love. The Los Angeles location, CHC's flagship site, provides a full continuum of housing and support services, serving over 900 young people annually over the past 36 years. Applicants must be at least 25 years old due to the age range of the youth served.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant data management experience.
  • Experience interacting with both SQL- and internet-based databases.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be computer literate (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Must have experience using relational databases.
  • Highly self-motivated with proven organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Applicants must be at least 25 years old.

Nice To Haves

  • HMIS and/or Bonterra ETO or similar database experience is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite is preferred.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care, youth development principles, and barriers faced by youth experiencing homelessness.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring data integrity and quality across all program areas.
  • Contributing to programmatic management through the review and monitoring of service delivery documentation.
  • Promoting compliance with private and government funder requirements.
  • Coordinating closely with program staff to support accurate and timely data entry.
  • Maintaining and monitoring program databases (including ETO, HMIS, and others).
  • Ensuring adherence to best practices and tracking standards.
  • Assisting with internal audits, program evaluation reporting, and preparation for site visits and compliance reviews.
  • Supporting the agency’s funding needs by contributing to grant reporting processes.
  • Collecting data to demonstrate program outcomes.
  • Participating in cross-functional meetings with service programs and the Director.
  • Works collaboratively with CHC's Program teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of data entry across program databases (e.g., ETO, HMIS, internal tracking systems).
  • Provide a high level of customer service to partnering departments including programs, HR, development and finance.
  • Maintain updated documentation of data standards, protocols, and procedures for assigned contracts, systems or areas of scope defined by the Director of QA.
  • Maintains census and bed list reports at all sites, mitigating any gaps in accuracy and proper training of staff members in those data systems.
  • Conduct routine data quality checks and audits to identify errors or inconsistencies, and work with agency staff on the correction process.
  • Monitor program performance metrics in alignment with agency goals and funder requirements, including performing routine chart audits, and summarize findings and recommendations.
  • Assist in the preparation of data reports for funders, government agencies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Document Management: Assist in maintaining the various filing systems at each site in an organized and consistent manner.
  • Charts and documentation: Prepare charts for audit-readiness and ensure that all contractually required paperwork, signatures and audit sheets are maintained by program.
  • Respond to job related emails, voicemails and direct requests from in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participate in weekly QA team meetings, and other meetings as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
