Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in enterprise systems engineering or backup administration.
3+ years of hands-on experience with Commvault, Veeam, or Cohesity.
Experience managing data in secure GovCloud or on-premises environments.
Active security clearance (Secret or Top Secret)

Nice To Haves

CompTIA Security+ (required for DoD 8570 compliance).
Commvault Certified Professional or Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE).
Azure or AWS Administrator Associate.

Responsibilities

Technical implementation of backup policies and schedules using Commvault, Veeam, or Cohesity.
Configure and maintain "Encryption at Rest" and "Encryption in Transit" for all managed backup repositories.
Perform regular backup validation and data restoration tests to ensure mission-ready data integrity.
Troubleshoot backup failures and optimize performance across virtual and physical environments.
Technical implementation of storage targets including cloud-based S3 buckets and on-premises SAN/NAS.
Monitor security alerts related to data protection and implement patches for backup infrastructure.
Maintain documentation for backup configurations in support of federal audits and ATO reviews.
