Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, Regulatory and Professional Compliance and Chief Privacy Officer, and working closely with the Senior Legal Counsel, Regulatory and Professional Compliance, the Data Protection Analyst is responsible for the preparation of Privacy Impact Assessments, remediation of privacy and data breaches, and providing support for the Firm’s privacy and data protection compliance processes. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, high-caliber in-house legal team in a thriving and progressive international organization.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years’ experience in preparing Privacy Impact Assessments and in remediating data breaches at a large Canadian organization;
  • Knowledgeable in all Canadian federal and provincial privacy laws and regulations;
  • Exceptional time management, organizational, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Sound judgment, and the ability to influence and motivate others;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with high-quality and timely work product in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to build trust and create effective working relationships across business lines, and with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Inquisitive and self-motivated, you work effectively individually and with a team.
  • Proficiency in English at a business level is required
  • This position requires written and oral fluency in English. The successful candidate will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking colleagues or stakeholders nationally in our English speaking provinces while at KPMG.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a Canadian privacy specialist, while not mandatory, is preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Privacy Impact Assessments for new technologies, applications, processes and service lines;
  • Remediate and document data breaches (privacy and confidentiality);
  • Provide support in connection with the Firm’s data protection compliance program and projects; and
  • Support internal and external data protection audits, reviews and certifications.
