About The Position

New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company seeks a Data Protection Administrator/Storage Administrator to install, configure, and perform daily management of the storage and data protection solutions. This role involves designing and testing data recovery in simulated disaster recovery and malware related events. The administrator will also install, configure, and manage the storage environment, including fiber channel storage area networks, and perform capacity management and performance monitoring. Maintaining, upgrading, and managing the lifecycles of storage and data protection hardware/software are key responsibilities. Local telecommuting is permitted up to 2 days per week. Participation in a 7-day on-call rotation and occasional weekend work is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in configuring and managing enterprise storage and data protection technologies.
  • Experience with NAS (EMC Isilon and AWS FSx).
  • Experience with object storage (AWS S3).
  • Experience with block storage (EMC Unity, EMC VNXe, and PURE X-series).
  • Experience with storage networking (Cisco MDS, DCNM, and NDFC).
  • Experience with backup solutions (Commvault, N2WS CPM, AWS Backup, and AWS Data Sync).
  • Experience integrating storage and backup solutions with multiple operating systems including MS Windows, Linux, VMware and AWS EC2.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex issues in storage, platform, network and data protection applications.
  • Experience configuring and managing backup and data protection technologies.
  • Experience designing and testing data recovery in simulated disaster recovery and malware related events.
  • Experience taking storage and data protection solutions from concepts and design, building and validating functionality.
  • Experience with lifecycle management of storage devices, software and related peripherals.
  • Experience evaluating and applying operating system updates, firmware updates and security patches.
  • Experience working with third party vendors to accomplish lifecycle and maintenance tasks.
  • Must participate in a 7-day on call rotation.
  • Must participate in occasional weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate storage and backup solutions with multiple operating systems including MS Windows, Linux, VMware and AWS EC2.
